Kaethe, Walter & Monica
We were very sorry to hear about the loss of Dietrich.
Unfortunately, we only learned of his passing late on Thursday July 9 after we came back from vacation and were unable to attend his funeral.
My sister Wanda Weatherson and her husband Gary also want to extend their condolences.
As a child I fondly remember my parents, Corny and Mary, both now deceased, getting together now and then with Dietrich & Kaethe.
I also remember Walter and myself as playmates always finding something to keep us entertained while our parents visited with each other.

Kaethe, Walter and Monica,
We were so sorry to hear of your husband and father's passing. My Mom and Dad, Victor and Elfrieda Braun would like to extend their heartfelt condolences. They have lots of fond memories of time spent with Dietrich and Kaethe. Vic especially has often reminisced about the early years when he first met Dietrich after their arrival from Germany. Dietrich, Mr Epp and my dad were apparently quite a threesome.
May you experience God's comfort and peace during this sad time.

Dietrich was my cousin; his father and mine were brothers. I recently found a draft of a letter that Dad sent to Canadian officials that helped Dietrich to come to Canada after WWII. Late in their lives both my father and mother wrote down their memories with emphases on the terrible times in Chortitza in 1917-23. Late in the lives of Dietrich and Kaethe I occasionally visited them to trade stories and geneological information with emphases on what they experienced during the long terrible years from 1930 to 1947. The recent ancestors of Dietrich and Kaethe were notable people in South Russia and thus their parents were made to suffer mercilessly. That my cousins had survived so much and could still participate so well in their communities here greatly impressed me. So thanks, Kaethe and Dietrich.
