Dear Barbara and family I am so sorry to learn just today (11 January 2016) of Gordon's death in August last year. I have been looking recently at the photographs he sent me of us when I stayed with you ten or eleven years ago. I recall your generous hospitality and Gordon's interest in family history and in painting. I feel ashamed that I did not keep more regularly in contact,and now it is too late. His conversations on the phone were always interesting. I pray that you all are keeping well. Love Geoff (London, England)

So sorry to hear of Gordons passing. He was a great guy to have known, from my childhood days of exchanging reel to reel tape recordings and first day issue stamps during his service in Ghana to the many years of Xmas cards and letters from Canada. We always looked forward to each years Xmas scene "from a painting by G Rose"! My Mum and Dad always spoke so fondly of Barbara and Gordon. His enthusiasm for life was fantastic...always curious about new things and so many hobbies and projects to pursue! Life was never dull for Gordon, and we will all miss his energy and inspirational presence. Our condolences to Barbara, Christine and Phil. Gordon has left a huge legacy for which you should be truly proud. Chris, Lois, Lucy and Jessica Skellett, New Zealand.

I was very sad to hear of Mr. Rose's passing. I still have fond memories of his showing me how to lay a floor as well as creating murals in my record store some twenty-five years ago. Always a man willing to take the time to show you how to do things correct the first time. A mantra I'm trying to pass on to my own girls. I'm ever so glad you attended my mother's birthday open house last summer and I had an opportunity to sit down with you both after so many years and just catch up. I've added a photo from last August that I will now treasure. All the best,

Our deepest sympathy and condolences go out the family members and friends of Gordon who are grieving at this time. It’s hard to know what to say at times like this, but please find comfort in what it says at John 5:28&29, and that soon, the earth will be a place where death, and the tears, pain, and sorrow will be a thing of the past as Revelation 21:4 promises, and our loved ones will return to a life on earth feeling young, healthy and happy again.
