Obituary of Joan Peck

Joan (Joanne) Peck passed away Tuesday August 18th at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 91. She was cherished by her son Ron and her daughter-in-law Sherryl as well as her 2 grandchildren Emily and Bradley. Joan was born in Montreal, Quebec on July 13th 1924. She was a secretary for Trans Canada Airlines at the Dorval Airport in Montreal for many years. She met her late husband, George Peck while working there. Joan and George were married in October 1952. Because they were airline people, they traveled extensively. In 1977, they moved to Jordan Station, Ontario where they enjoyed retired life together still travelling and playing golf. She was involved in her church life as a choir member and several women’s groups. After her husband passed in 1988, Joan became a volunteer at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital for over 10 years. Later in life as she progressed through Alzheimer’s she still maintained her sunny disposition and always had a smile for everybody. Visitation will be at Tallman Funeral Homes Vineland Chapel on Sunday August 23rd from 7pm to 8:30pm. The funeral will take place at Tallman’s as well, on Monday afternoon at 1:30pm. Interment will follow at the Vineland Cemetery on Martin Road in Vineland. Everyone is welcome to join the family at the United Mennonite Home Orchardview Apartments Chapel for refreshments afterwards. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
