Dear Stephanie, Sean and Jade:
My sincerest condolances to each of you on Kathy's passing. I have thought of you often since being there for Carl's service . knowing you have been dealing with Kathy's medical problems.
Kathy was always very plesant and happy on her visits to PEI and was most hospitable to me on my visits there. I also always enjoyed her Christmas letters as they were very informative. It was best not to talk politics with her as she seemed very passoniate on that topic.
I regret not being able to join you at this time in the celebration of her life. I would hope that we will stay in contact and please know you will be most welcomed any time you are interested in visiting PEI.
Please have some comfort in knowing my thoughts are with each of you.
My e-mail is as per this messag: chas417@live.com or text 902-314-6511.
Sincerely
Barrie C. Reid

Kathy was my right hand for 30 years, serving as the Secretary and Co-ordinator of McMaster's Introductory Psychology courses. She was efficient, energetic, dedicated, and unfailingly calm, polite, helpful, and even nurturing, to thousands of students and teaching assistants over those years. She always gave everyone who needed her help her full attention, and all the support and assistance she could offer.
Students would come back years after taking the course to visit with her, remembering and thanking her for the support and kindnesses she had bestowed on them.
She forged a bond with the undergraduate teaching assistants that was nothing short of remarkable. She guided and mentored hundreds of them over the years, and remembered all of them by name. I remember one TA, coming back after more than a decade away, saying to me before he went to visit Kathy "I'm sure she won't remember me after all these years!" But as he walking down the hall toward her office she emerged, saw him - 40 feet away - and immediately said "Jim! Great to see you again"
And that is not even to mention the hundreds of times she kept me on track, arranged my schedules, and managed tasks I never thought she could complete.
She was in every way a very special person, and all of us who knew her will miss her terribly.

Hi Stephanie and Shawn,
We were so shocked to hear about Kathy. We know how much you and your family will miss her.
We have many good memories from the summer visits your Mom and Dad would make home to PEI. Kathy was always laughing and they were both so happy to see family.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.
Barbie Dawn, Judy and families.
