Dear Hannelore,
I still remember our last visit in Canada, though it is more than 30 years ago on our honeymoon.
Bill and you kept the contact, even after my parents had died.
Thank you for that.
We will keep Willy in our mind and hope that you keep on doing well.

Nancy and I remember Bill always smiling, always positive, and always interested in any topic being discussed. Unfortunately we did not get to see much of each other once the children started arriving so it was especially enjoyable, at the funeral service, to hear about Bill as a father. From knowing Bill, it did not surprise me at all. He made a real impact on his family and he will be greatly missed.
With sincere condolences, Ekkehard and Nancy Heidebrecht

Dear Susan, I was so sorry to read of your father’s death. It sounded as if your dad was a very interesting person. He certainly suffered many hardships, especially when young. I greatly admire people who emigrate here, especially when they don’t speak the language. He certainly did well and raised a wonderful family.
Sorry I am unable to attend the visitation or service. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincere sympathy,
Stephanie Thomson

We were sorry to hear of Bill's passing, our sympathy to the family. My husband and I enjoyed working with him at St. Catharines VW; he always wore a friendly smile, was a very nice person, and had interesting stories to tell on longer trips to pick up cars in Toronto. He will be missed.

To Hannelore and the Harder Family:
Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of such a fine man.. Bill was one of the ultimate child survivors of the war but together with his brother Herbert did not give up. He had written a beautiful survivor story in one of the Life with Us publications at NUM. - an excellent read. I am thankful for his gentle, helpful nature, good conversations and, kind manners.
Wishing you all strength and peace as you live life without him sincerely - Ingrid Regier
