Elizabeth Shelton

Obituary of Elizabeth Pauline Veronica Shelton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Shelton on May 7, 2024 at the age of 94.  Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Born April 20, 1930 in Kitchener, Ontario.

Predeceased by husband of 58 years, Lyle (2010).  Mother of Michael (Julia), Diane (Tony Malone) and Chris (Deb).  Grandmother to Eric (Natalya), Jeff, Kevin M, Kellie, Erin (Richard Parg), Lauren, Haley,  Jaimie, and Kevin Y.    She was very proud of being a great grandmother to Nicholas Eric Shelton.

Loving sister to Annette Kuhn and Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mom had eight siblings.

Mom worked for the Bank of Montreal in Kitchener and then Grimsby after moving to Beamsville to raise her family.

She really enjoyed attending the recreation and exercise programs at the Lincoln Community Centre when she was able and meeting up with friends there.  She was a wiz at Wii bowling and was the recipient of the championship trophy one year.  She enjoyed meeting for coffee at McDonald's with the ladies and their chats which really helped after dad passed.

In her younger years, she had perfected the Tarzan Jungle Call and would stand on the back step of our house and call our dad to come in for lunch from the orchard.  It was quite hilarious.

During the farm season, mom would be busy assisting such as packing strawberries, cherries and peaches.   She was very active every season and was awarded our farm's prestigious Gold Level Peach Packing award.

At mom's request there will be no visitation; cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 14th from 2:00-4:00 pm. in the Fireside Room at Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King Street, Vineland, ON L0R 2C0.

The family would like to thank all those who helped mom
during her recent health concerns.
