Obituary of Jacob Weier

Weier, Jacob Jr. - June 30th, 1933 – May 8th, 2024 – Jacob Weier, of Vineland, passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 8th, 2024, at Hotel Dieu Shaver in St. Catharines where he received wonderful care and support from their staff over the recent weeks.

Jake is now joining hands with his predeceased wife of over 63 years Mary Weier, their son Dennis Weier and son-in-law Brian McKean. He is survived by their children Barbara Weier, Beverly McKean and Brenda (Angelo) Canal, grandchildren Tracy (Ryan), Jessica (Brad), Tammy (Brad), Quentin (Eleanor), Andre, Kelly (Jason), Daniel (Sarah), Andrew, Richard and by 22 great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings Peter (Mona), Abe (Liz), Rudy (deceased), Elfrieda, Trudy, Anita and Frank. Jake was the first born of Jacob and Margaret Weier.

Growing up farming with his family from a young age and later working at Jordan Wines before retirement. He enjoyed fishing, boating, times at the trailer, singing in the church choir and moments spent with his family making memories together. Family picnics, holiday gatherings and meals were his most cherished of times.

Private family arrangements have been made to honour Jake’s life.
