Care Alexander

Obituary of Care Hsiuyu Chi Alexander

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Care Alexander(紀秀玉), a cherished wife, beloved mother, and revered community figure. Care went peacefully into the arms of her Lord Jesus in her sleep on May 18, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born (August 12, 1970) and raised in Southern Taiwan to Hsu, Wu-Jen and Chi,Yuan-Chang,  Care brought her sense of humour, love for education and nurturing to every aspect of her life. She began her career as an English and kindergarten teacher, passionately educating young minds in Taiwan. Later, after moving to Canada, she transitioned to a role of representing private high schools, in recruiting students from Taiwan. More than her professional role, Care served as a guardian and 'home mom' to many of these students, providing a loving home and caring environment for over 16 years.  Her love of baking and cooking both Western and Chinese food was evident to all who enjoyed a meal in her loving home. Care loved to travel with students, close friends, and family.

Care's unwavering kindness and warmth touched countless lives, both within her home, family, Church and community. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Tim Alexander, her daughters Tabitha and Tess (Bruce Zhang), her elder sister 小玉 (余福成), younger sister 伶苑, and younger brother 登耀 (Yoko Chien).

A celebration of life will be held at Beamsville Church of Christ on May 26 at 2:00 PM. We invite all whose lives were touched by Care’s care to join us in honouring her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Great Lakes Christian High School or Hospice of Waterloo Region would be greatly appreciated.

Care's legacy of love and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uniformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

1 Thes. 4: 13-14 NIV
