Obituary of Ellie Koop

Koop, Ellie - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ellie (Petronella) Koop (nee Heus) on May 24, 2024.

Loving wife of Bill Koop. Dear mother of Lori Armstrong (nee Garner) (spouse: John) and Sandra Cyr (nee Garner) (spouse: Craig). Beloved grandmother of Corey, Paige, Alyssa, Kristen, Cameron, Sean, and Oliver, and devoted sister of Thea and Alida.
Ellie was a graduate and long-term employee of Brock University, holding various positions through the years, with her final position being Registrar of Graduate Studies. Ellie had a deep love for reading, travel, and gardening. Her home was filled with books, and she found joy in exploring new places with Bill and her sisters. She loved tending to her elaborate gardens, and took great pride and satisfaction in the beautiful spaces she created. 

Many heartfelt thanks to the ER and ICU staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their exemplary care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service will be held at Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland, on Thursday May 30 at 1pm, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wellspring Niagara would be appreciated.
