My thoughts and prayers and loads of love are being sent your way.
The biggest thing a parent (or parents) can leave is their children and the legacy of their faith and tradition. Each and every one of you carries something forward from your wonderful parents.
I loved both your parents and remember hosting them in my home when Lil and Barry lived in their apartment close by in Barrie. They were gracious and filled with the love of the Lord. That has obviously been carried forward to all of their children. How blessed they must have been (and are!) to have four adults that love the Lord and show that in the ways they act and react.
Mr. Hambleton was such a gentleman with a shy and quiet smile. He was obviously intelligent and knowledgeable and when pressed into conversation would respond with wisdom and humour. I so enjoyed when I brought some balloons into the home and played volleyball with him there...what a pass he had! It brought delight to him...and to me!
It was a privilege to be there with Lil and Liz as they sang hymns and prayed over him two days prior to his passing. (I don't sing as well as those two - but made a 'joyful noise unto the Lord'). What a blessing to have his son, William holding his hand when he passed on to see his Saviour.
May the many memories of your father live on in your heart and memories and may your faith sustain you until you meet again.
Love and hugs,
Michelle

Hello Elizabeth and all the Hambleton siblings. I enjoyed the photographs posted and realized that I remembered Bob from his horticultural days. I'm sure he had attended a Fruitgrower Convention or two where I would have met and talked to him and his friend Ernie Grimo. The latter finally persuaded this Fruit-grower to plant a Hazelnut Orchard.
All these years and being familiar with the name through that brief association and recent Vineland Cemetery document work with Elizabeth, it was nice to make the connection again. My sincere condolences and expressed thoughts that those quality of life issues are now behind your father with new joy to experience.
Sincerely,
Les High
