Dear Tobi, Harold, Isaac, Jonah and Benjamin: Upon reading the TUMC announcements this afternoon, I learned of the passing of Ilse -- Harold's Mom -- mother-in-law, and Oma to the boys. We met Harold's parents at your wedding, Tobi and Harold -- became friends with them, before continuing our new friendship on our trip to Ukraine in 1994. We really enjoyed fellow-shipping with them -- such a lovely couple. One of my most precious memories: Waiting for our flight in the Odessa airport. Harold's Dad was whistling beautiful hymns, and I couldn't resist to begin singing. May you all find comfort in the special memories you all hold. Love, Marg & Walter Friesen

Thinking of you, particularly, today Ingrid. You are gathering at the church on this bright sunny day in love, thanksgiving & sadness, I can only imagine. May you find all you need, being together with family & friends, through words and song. Ahh, the singing ~ Mennonite Harmonies ~ glorious for you and your Mom.
Lots of Love,
Karen

Dear Thiessen Family;
Esther and I were saddened to hear of your sorrow upon the passing of your mother and Oma. I have fond memories of my youth at SCUMC where Harold and I became close friends after serving together at Silver Lake Mennonite Camp. I know that all the Thiessens were good friends to my siblings and that my parents held Ilse and Gerhard in high esteem as friends and as their lay pastor couple. I recall conversations with both Mr. and Mrs. Thiessen during that era that reminded me of how important it is for the church to have such wise elders.
Your mother will not only be greatly missed by your family, but she leaves a hole in the congregation as well. My mother, in particular, will miss her greatly.
We offer you our deepest sympathies as you gather as a family to mourn your loss, to celebrate a life well lived, and to worship God as a family and church community.
Blessings to your family.

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the Thiessen family on the passing of Tante Ilse. She had a very full life. We are confident that you will find much comfort within her large family and in the peace of the Lord.
