Paul was my dearest friend when we were young. We met at Carleton University, in first year, and we were best friends. We had a fantastic time together. After graduation, we both moved to Toronto and I lived briefly in his tiny dark room on Abel St. (he was doing photography). We continued to be good friends and he was the Best Man at my wedding. I loved him very much - he was a great person - always kind, thoughtful, and loads of fun. He tried to make the world more beautiful and he helped make my wedding beautiful too.
After I had my first child, I rarely saw Paul. I was either working hard at the office or spending time my family, with little time for any of my old friends. We did not keep in touch.
I was shocked to hear of his passing. What a terrible loss -- he was so young. I cannot stop thinking about it. What happened?
I am even more shocked that there are no visible condolences on this webpage. Paul always had so many friends - he was the life of the party. Again, I do not understand.
Paul had a large, loving community of friends and chosen family. He was a great friend and a great person. I am deeply saddened. My sympathies to all who loved him.
