Harry Bierman posted a condolence

Dear family of my special cousin, John Wikkerink. My condolences with the death of your father, grandfather and great grandfather. I have always enjoyed your parents and later, after Dini died, John continued to be part of the Bierman outings whenever he could. Yes, he could make some good wine and beer and was a real competitor, but Duane Vandermeer did choose my home brew over your Dad's in
A friendly beer-tasting meet. I loved cousin John for his enthusiasm and zest for life and people. His faith was genuine and real and he had a good impact in my life. I wish I had followed my heart sooner and taken the time to drive down and spend some time with him. Dear family, I wish you God's strength
As you mourn the loss of a man of John's stature. I am sure that heaven is a better place because of John joining Dini. God bless you and I hope we meet someday to get to know us better.
Love and prayers - Harry Bierman

Metha and I are so sorry to hear of John's passing. Even though we are in Portugal and are unable to be with you in person, we want you all to know our thoughts and prayers are with you. It is always very difficult to say goodbye to our loved ones, but we do have the firm hope that one day we will see them again. It is this hope that sustains us in times of grief. And, now, for John, it is a time of celebration, for he has been re-united with the love of his life.
Thinking of you,
John and Metha van der Beek.

Lieve allemaal.
Warme herinneringen zullen jullie daarbij helpen. Hij was zeer trots op jullie.
Veel liefs vanuit het huis waarhij geboren is.
Harry en Hanny

A good man, one of the most optimistic and positive persons I have ever met, good example to follow on how to give of yourself. Take good care of each other.

The words help me imagine a man I never met. And I see his mightiness and sweetness in Michele and Linda, 2 women I am proud to know and actually admire and adore.
A huge loss. In sympathy and love

Steve and I met John through the Lions, when Steve joined the group. He was such a kind and caring person, who had a kind word and smile for everyone. It was a pleasure that our life paths crossed.
We both had the upmost respect for John.
He and Diny are happy together again!
God bless you John....

Upon becoming a Lion, John was one of the first Lions I saw outside of a Lion meeting. It was in Home Depot in St. Catharines. John was, where else, in the electrical aisle and while he recognized me, my thought was that he couldn't recall my name. It was after all, about a month after I became a Lion.
John will be missed by the Lions and the many, many people he helped with their projects.
God Speed John.

As a long-time member of the Beamsville & District Lions Club, many of the Lions' Community projects bear John's hallmark. John's fellowship, friendship and 'connections' will be missed. John and Diny's generosity of spirit contributed to shaping our community in ways that will not be forgotten.

Our sincere condolences to the family. I have many wonderful memories of Uncle John. I remember he was always busy doing or fixing something. He was always renovating something in that big house. He was also a good talker. He would tells us about things that he had learned about. I have good memories of family times spent with Uncle John and Tante Diny. It has been a long time ago but the love and memories don't fade. Love to you all. Ella and John
