Dear Audrey and family;
We cannot know the depth of your feelings at this time of loss.
Gail and I have cherished the instant bond of friendship we shared from Cambridge 1991. Our thoughts have often turned to vintage cars, Tweed history, and retirement expectations. You graciously shared my retirement celebration.
We are with you and will continue to be with you in thought and spirit. Grasp the bonds that have sheltered you and kept you this far, so far, knowing they surround you in love and protection.
We regret not being able to see you June 10, but our hearts and love are with you always, Ted and Gail Browne.

First our (Linda & Murray) condolences to Audrey, Melanie, Allison, Wenonah and their families and grandchildren. My memories of Blenus always contain Audrey, first at Abilene Christian College (now University) from 1960 to 1963. My recollections are that Blenus was always in a leadership role, some of it involving the foreign students; I was one. I then recall teaching at Great Lakes Christian College (High School) with Audrey for one year while Blenus was in law school. Linda and I next encountered them as some of their children attended camp at Christian Heights Camp in lower New York State (south of Buffalo) where I was a counsellor. We met them over the years at Hickory College Church of Christ in Lewiston, N.Y. where we attended for a few years in the 1970's. Then we made a connection with their daughter Wenonah who joined the Tallman clan (Linda's 1st cousins) and made our grandchildren 3rd cousins of Blenus & Audrey's (Wenonah's & Rob's) grandchildren.
I believe that my memory of Blenus is of a person who had a keen sense of what was right and just, as well as a strong sense of responsibility to others, which he brought to his career as a lawyer, judge and to his Christian vocation. And Audrey was always right beside Blenus. That is how I remember this family.

Blenus was truly a Man for the Ages, one of those rare human beings whose memory and influence will long outlive the time he blessed us with on earth. I was around him only a few times--twice when I visited him and Audrey in Toronto, and once when he came with Audrey to visit me. But I did not need to be in his physical presence to feel his greatness, for it was always in the forefront during my longtime friendship with Audrey . And perhaps the greatest tribute to him is the one Melanie spoke to me several years ago: "My parents raised child rearing to the level of an ART!"
