Obituary of Ada Louise Cairns
Cairns, Ada Louise (nee Davison) – Peacefully at Extendicare, St. Catharines on Thursday, June 8, 2017 in her 95th year. Ada was born Jan. 21, 1923 to George and Gladys Davison of Brantford. She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Roland (Joe) of St. Catharines, 2 sons, Jack (Marlene) and David (Nancy), both of Pelham, and her sisters-in-law Frances Chamberlain (Bill) of Guelph, and Lynda Davison of Langley, B.C. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 67 ½ years, W. John (Buck) (2013), her parents, brothers George (Joan), Doug (Lee), Grant (Lynda) and her sisters Gladys Myhill (Den) & Joyce Quelch (John). Ada was an adherent of Rockway Presbyterian Church, a life member of Rockway Community Club where she was instrumental in organizing Indoor Lawn Bowling and other activities, served as President of the Lancaster Lawn bowling Club and volunteered with the N.P.C.A. She was an avid gardener and especially liked her lily garden. The family would like to thank the PSWs from CCAC and the staff at Extendicare for their wonderful care and compassion during the last 18 months. The family will receive friends at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., on Monday June 19 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday June 20 at 2pm at Rockway Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favourite charity would be appreciated by the family.
