Obituary of John Prophet

PROPHET, John Ernest
Oct. 10, 1926 - July 22, 2017
Passed away peacefully at Niagara Hospice in St. Catharines in his 91st year.  Born to James and Christine Prophet of St. Catharines. Predeceased by wife Marjorie Ellen Silk in November 2005 and brother Mert Prophet in 2012.  Father of Penny Bailey of Burlington, Philip Prophet (Sandra) of Ottawa and Shelley Bauer (Bob) of St. Catharines. Grandfather to Timothy Bailey of Toronto, Kari Hames, Erin Hames of B.C., Kevin Hames of Alberta and great-grandfather to Liam MacFarlane of Burlington. Brother of Edith and uncle of Peggy Prophet of Indianapolis, Fran Holden (John) of Collingwood and Jayne Holden of the Yukon; and longtime special companion, his cat, Sam.  Special thanks to palliative care team of Dr. Debra Dooler and Sue Battersby-Campbell and to CCAC, St. Elizabeth’s nurses Kim Bradshaw, Laurie Andreychuk and Prince Gwanzura, the staff of ParaMed and to the staff at Shorthills Manor in Fonthill. Big thanks to friends and neighbors on 21st Street Louth, Vineland Station. Cremation has taken place and at his request there is no service.
