I am sorry for your loss. I taught with Lois at Senator Gibson almost 40 years ago. She was a lovely teacher, always interested in her students, kind and helpful to her fellow teachers. She had the kind of gentle voice and warm manner that made everyone feel relaxed and peaceful in her company. She was very proud of her family and spoke warmly of you all. Sheila Laundry

Lois was a gem. Besides having
Good memories of her at RWTO meetings, I visited her at her various homes in recent years and was uplifted by her alertness and sense of humor.

My deepest sympathy, Joanne and family.
I remember your Mom from 1951 or 1952 when she taught "kindergarten" to a small group of us; at your home on Ontario Street. Lovely memories.

Lois was always mom to me. As my mother-in-law, she modelled the way to live your life. She passed that on to Joanne and me. We tried hard to do the same with our children, Jeff and Jenn. We like to think as grandparents, we passed on some of that to our dear grandchildren, Keira and Jared. I know I'm a better man because I had Lois Mabel Filce in my life for 56 years. Thanks mom and God speed!

Joanne, Jim and family
We are with you in heart space through the loss of sweet Aunt Lois. We all have strong recollections of Lois’s ever-present attention to detail in her letters. Somehow for every birthday and holiday her letter would arrive just in time. In her beautifully penned accounts of her day-to-day life, she shared sweet little details of projects she was working on or events she was attending. She always asked for updates and made sure to let us know she carried us in her prayers and thoughts. Her love for her family and friends was far-reaching and sincere. We hold Lois in our prayers through her journey onwards as she held us all many times. How fortunate we feel to have had her love.
With sincerest condolences,
From your West Coast family: Ann, Scott, Greg, Julianna, Donna, Natalie, Luke and Sarah.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Lois was very special to me. Not only was she my grade two teacher, when i went to teachers' college, my first placement to be a student teacher was with her. I thought I would make her feel 'old', but she told me that I must have thought she was ancient! And that was in 1967!
Later I had the privilege of interacting with her more at church. I have wonderful fond memories of her. She was a beautiful person.

Mrs. Filce was my "Pal" and I was her "Gal" through the Pioneer Girls Club at Vineland Missionary Church. She was the essence of Loveliness!! I will never forget her, always kind and attentive to me. Even in recent years, she tracked me down and called to see how I was.
A Life well Lived!
