Danny,
To put a face to the name I am Bert and Joyce Davis's son, the one you ran into in Barrie with the Studebaker last year.
We just heard the sad news of Eleanor's passing from my Uncle Ron and Aunt Shirley Martin. I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear this news and our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Please know you are always welcome to stop by if you are in the Barrie area.

It's a sad time for all who knew Eleanor and especially for you Dan ("Mayor of Tintern") and the family. Eleanor had one of the most beautiful smiles. We are remembering the times seeing you both relaxing in the front yard and, as neighbours, we would stop in & have such lovely chats. Our condolences to you and the family.

She was part of the village that raised me. I felt so loved and seen whenever she spoke to me, as she gave me her full attention. I was not aware that she was ill, but I hear that she was lovingly cared for. My love to you Kirk, April, and Dan

I am so sorry for your loss, Dan. I know how difficult it is to lose your partner in life. But, I also know how hard it is to see them suffer through a terrible affliction. Give yourself time to grieve but I pray that God will give you comfort over time. Take care of yourself.

I send my love to Dan, Susan, Rachael and Kirk, and to all of the extended family. I loved Eleanor. She was a kind, pleasant woman in whom I found grace and evidence of Jesus. She was one who always made a point of hugging me, greeting me, and listening to me when I'd be at Tintern visiting from Japan. Truly a great lady whose presence I'll miss. I pray God's comfort surrounds the entire family, and I look forward to meeting Eleanor again someday.

What can I say, nothing that would ease the sadness you all feel. Eleanor was a wonderful friend to all. She was beautiful inside and out. We've known her for many years, first being when she was in Halifax. Spent lots of weekends with her in Texas. That beautiful smile of hers will always remain in our hearts. To you her family, our thoughts will be with you as you mourn for her. Cherish your memories, and cry and then laugh. Dan, we love you. Rachael, Susan, Kirk, you had a wonderful Mom. Our thoughts are with you all. Much love, George and Pat

Dear Dan and family, Eleanor was a beautiful role model for many women. I especially remember first meeting Eleanor and her parents, Dan and Clara. Such kind generous people. Eleanor was always willing to work for the WAVES whether in the GLCHS kitchen or making pies and cakes at home. May Jesus give you comfort and relief at the same time that Eleanor is with her Saviour. Her suffering is now over and peace at last.

A truly good person has left us. A mother, a grandmother, a cousin, a sister, a wife, a saint. Eleanor was/is all of this. And she will be missed by more people than she would ever imagine. I am especially grateful for Dan and Eleanor's hospitality to me and my family on our trips back to Canada. And I am even more grateful for the way Eleanor cared for my mother in her last years. She was truly the daughter my mother never had, and the closest I ever had to having a sister. Heaven is now more heavenly.
