My condolences go out to Rader family. I grew up with Shirley's granddaughter Melanie. I went camping at Sauble Beach with Melanie and her family. I have lots of great memories I will cherish.

Shirley and Charlie were like second parents to me in my teen years. Shirley was warm, caring, and devoted to her family. The kind of person that was very kind and welcoming to me and later to my fiance Maureen. I will remain forever thankful to the stability and comfort she added to my life in those sometimes directionless years.
Shirley was not always comfortable with all that happened in her own family as I think she was somewhat timid and worried about her family and any problems they may have had. Her son Doug was especially challenging to her thought process as we all know Doug was and still is a person that goes full throttle all the time. To Shirley's credit she was not a person to put herself first and was quietly tolerant to many things that I'm sure she was fretting immensely.
I will always fondly remember Shirley and the Radar family for the lovely people they were and are.
