Dear Jim,
My condolences for your loss. She was a dear, sweet, beautiful lady. I remember admiring her in her red cape. She will be missed.

Edra was a wonderful person, a wonderful friend and the best teacher I have ever witnessed, especially for kids who would have had a tough time in “traditional” schools. In Maple Grove, they found in Edra someone who believed in them without reservation and gave them the skills they needed to just BE. The last time I saw Edra was in West Lincoln Memorial Hospital just a month or so before she died. She said to me then that she could hardly wait to fly off into the stars and I knew she meant it. Jim, condolences to you on the loss of your life partner and friend from the Culps - Jonathan, Lesley and me.

We had the pleasure of knowing Edra through a former student ,Bruce Frizzell ,injured in a car accident and being brain injured .He maintained contact by writing letters to Edra .He maintains a journal and was approaching his 1000th letter when she passed. We had the privilege of a visit on December the 5th . Edra was happy to see Bruce and the visit was a wonderful glimpse into her life.We are thankful for her help and encouragement she gave to Bruce ,She will truly be missed .We pray for comfort to Jim and the family as they go through this difficult time .Henry and Lorraine Klein

Edra’s family: My mother (Kay Campney) worked at Vineland Hardware for Harold and Dorothea Horsley for several years and that’s where I first heard about that wonderful person Edra Thompson. I remember hearing what a awesome principal she was at Maple Grove from my sister who had her children attend there. Certainly a role model she will certainly be missed by many people. RIP Edra
