Obituary of Gina Peters

PETERS, Georgina (‘Gina) Mary Caroline nee Golden died peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Kilean Lodge, Grimsby, with family by her side. Loved beyond words by her best friend and high school sweetheart Adrian Peters, to whom she was married for 51 years. Loving mother to Avvey Peters (David Drewe) and Carrey Peters Wiersma (Philip) and adoring grandmother to Eve and Kay Wiersma. “Mrs. Peters” will be fondly remembered by a generation of elementary school children in Hamilton, ON, where she taught for 34 years. ‘Gina contributed her creative and organizational talents to many volunteer organizations over the years, including the Hamilton Motor Sport Club and the Binbrook Country Quilters’ Guild. She and Adrian were enthusiastic motorsport fans, closely following Formula 1 racing. ‘Gina loved sitting by the fireplace at their home in the country, and spending time with family. ‘Gina’s family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at Tallman Funeral Chapel, 4998 King St, Beamsville, ON. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Christ Church Woodburn, 1307 Woodburn Rd., Hannon, ON followed by a private interment. Special thanks to the staff at Kilean Lodge for their loving support and care of ‘Gina since 2016.
