I would like to express my sincere condolences to Don’s family on his passing.
Although I have only come to know Don in the past 10 years , I will remember him fondly. He was a true gentleman.
Humphrey & I had the pleasure of his company each year for Decoration
Day here on the Island , where their other buddy , Clive would always join
them. Lots of stories were told by these lifelong friends.
It’s sad to think of the three of them gone now, but I’m sure they will continue to amuse each other in another place.
Please find comfort in your memories of this fine man.
Sincerely , Eunice Beaudin (Humphrey’s wife )

Dear Family,
My sincere condolences on the recent passing of Don.
I fondly remember he and Viola visiting Manitoulin during my childhood. Skis was one of the 4 lads from the island along with my dad Humphrey, Clive and Clayton. They were friends for most of their lives.
My mom Betty gave me some of the hasty notes with prints of Don's paintings which I still have for special occasions.
I'm happy that my daughter Leilani got to meet him during our visits to Little Current.
May the memories you treasure shine over the sorrow of loss.
Sincerely,
Susan

What warm feelings surface when I think of Uncle Don! We barely knew him in earlier years, but I'm so glad we re-connected 10 or 15 years ago. He was my Grandma's brother, and had lots of stories and old pictures to share through our letters and visits. We will miss seeing his face or hearing his voice, and having that connection to many years past. I'm thankful to have some of his artwork in memory of him.
To his children and grandchildren: we are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Don was such a positive, kind, pleasant man. We know you will miss him. May God be your comfort. I'd love to get to know some of you if the opportunity arises.

What a wonderful gentleman! I am truly fortunate to have had the pleasure of spending some time with and getting to know my Uncle Don better in recent years. He kindly took me to Little Current where he and my grandmother were born and raised, giving me a real understanding of those times and our ancestors via his wonderful stories and memories. My mom, Marianne, and I send our sincerest condolences to Don's family as we know he will be greatly missed by all.

Don MacKenzie. What a kind and generous soul. The definition of "a good man".
It has been almost 50 years since I spent a long weekend (Thanksgiving 1968 I think) with my new roommate's family in Waterloo at the home of Don and Vi. Paul invited me to his place to share Thanksgiving with his family. Don and Vi were a great team who opened their home often to me during my time at Great Lakes. It was always a comfortable and welcoming place. Years later it was a particular pleasure for me to be able to take my young family to visit in their home when they were living in Ajax and I was the visiting preacher.
Whenever I would see Don at an event, he would have the same quiet manner and inviting smile, always interested in what was happening in my life and the life of my family.
He will be missed. Fortunately for me I have a couple of his paintings in my home to remind me of him.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to give my condolences to the family. I knew Don well when our family attended the Blair Church of Christ years ago. I have always respected him and his godly behaviour. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will be with you; the family; as you struggle through your loss. May you also find comfort in the arms of God at this time.
