I went to school with Bonnie at Merritton High and we worked together serving ice cream afterschool. She was so full of energy and enthusiasm - she was a little spitfire! I am so sorry to hear of her passing at too young an age.

Bonnie, I was lucky to have you in my life. You gave me support when no one else did. You tried to save me when I couldn’t save myself. You taught me to have a sense of humour when things got tough. I wish I had spent more time with you as an adult, but I’m glad we kept in touch throughout the years. Losing you is a great loss, you are well loved. My condolences to the family.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Bonnie's passing. I had the privilege of having Bonnie at my side at the 2017 Walk of Hope as well as at Niagara City Council shortly after the walk. In that short time, Bonnie showed great strength, determination and a great deal of passion to work towards finding a cure for ovarian cancer. It is because of women like Bonnie that I will continue to work with Ovarian Cancer Canada to raise much needed funds for the fighters and their families. Bonnie will be greatly missed at the 2018 Walk of Hope. May she walk gracefully through the sunflower patch without pain, without suffering and in total peace.

Dearest Bonnie, I came and stayed with you 21 years ago as a terrified and culture -shocked teenager, haha. You opened your home and heart and made me feel welcome, loved and accepted straight away. I quickly realised that you and your family were coming out of a particularly tough period in your life, and I marvelled at your strength and composure. I remember thinking ‘I hope I’m that strong when I grow up!’. I have so many memories - far too many to list here - of the time I spent with you. Those memories continue to influence me today. I’m so sorry we never got to meet again. Thank you for being the best host mom that a spoiled, naughty teen from NZ could ask for! Thank you for looking after me when I was there and thank you for the advice and support you’ve always continued to give me over the years. I will miss you so much.

I had the privilege of knowing Bonnie as her Family Physician for nearly 20 years. She was a wonderful and courageous person. One of the last times that I saw her, in the middle of her battle, she had the kindness to bring me travel brochures from her recent trip. I will never forget what a thoughtful person she was towards me. God bless her and may she rest in peace.
