Obituary of Jacob Wiebe

Wiebe, Jacob - (Born December 17, 1918) It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our dear Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Jacob. Finally finding peace in his 95th year at Tabor Manor on Saturday November 16, 2013. Jacob was predeceased by his loving wife Katharina (nee Siemens) on April 24, 2012. Dad will be forever missed by his nine children and their spouses, John (Jean) , Peter (Deborah), Bill (Joanne), Siege (Josephine), Walt (Gail), Jake Wiebe, Hilda (Bob) West, Helen (Brian) Gemmell, and Trudy (Dean) Chemerika. Opa will forever remain in the hearts of his 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Jacob is survived by his sister Tina Loewen of Winnipeg, brother-in-law John Siemens of Germany, sister-in-law Anna Enns (Peter), Mary Unruh (Adolf) and sister-in-law Tina Wiebe of Kitchener, and many nieces and nephews. Jacob is predeceased by his parents Johann and Katharina Wiebe, brothers John, Abraham, Peter, brother-in-law Jacob Loewen, sister-in-law Helen Sommers and her husband Anoch. Family will receive friends on Tuesday November 19 at the United Mennonite Church, 335 Linwell Rd ., St. Catharines from 6 - 8pm. Service for Jacob will be held in the Church on Wednesday November 20 at 11am preceded by interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
