Obituary of Gysbert Slingerland

Slingerland, Gysbert (Gus) - Psalm 73:24 - "Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel and afterward receive me to glory." On January 27, 2014 at the age of 83, the Lord took unto Himself our dear husband, father and opa. Dear husband for 60 years to Trudy (Roverts). Loving father of Gerrit and Elaine, Marian and Bob (Matthew), William (Kyle, Anick), Harold and Janey (Chris and Tessa, Violet, Janelle, Nicole), Jolande and Brian (Curtis, Josh, Alysha, Alex). Brother of Gerry (Shirley), Jopie (The Netherlands) and brother-in-law of Alida. Special thanks to Dr. J. Hutchinson, Dr. B. Kerley, CCAC and Hospice Niagara for their care. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St. Vineland. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 31 at 10:30am at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation, 1142 Lakeshore West, St.Catharines. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara Stabler Centre or any of the Niagara area Christian Schools.
