Today is February 20, 2024. I decided to do a search for Lois Wilson's obit and I found it. I put a post up that was directed to Alan located at https://www.smithsfh.com/memorials/lois-wilson/5087631/index.php#wall. My dad "Jack" and "Alan's dad Don worked together at Dofasco. I posted pictures on Lois' page and clicked on the post button. I then went back to the obit and read it again. I had to read it over and over again when it said that Alan had predeceased her. I was shocked to find this out. The last time that I saw Alan was at Lois' 80th birthday party. Alan and I played Dofasco hockey and baseball together. I also stayed over at the Wilson's place a few times.
Alan was at my mom's visitation when she passed.
My thoughts were to do the post on Lois' page and then contact Smiths in Grimsby to see if they could contact Alan so he could read my post and maybe we could reconnect. As stated above I was then shocked to find out about Alan.
I am posting a few pictures in memory of Alan. Included is a picture of Alan and Lois, my mom Gracie and Lois and our hockey team - Alan is second from the left in the back row of the hockey pictures in one picture and on the very right in the first row on the other picture. There are also a couple of pictures of Lois and Don with their "Couples Club".
My belated condolences to all of the family.

Al , It was and still is a true blessing to have known Al. His strenghth and grace have forever left such an impact on my life. Al was always positive and found the good, even in times when many others may have not. He always awanted people to have a really nice time, and always made sure that everyone felt welcomed and loved. Al did not judge anyone, he accepted everyone just as they were, that to me is real love. His laugh is contagious, and I can still hear it:) The love that he had for his daughters is so strong, and he loved kirsten and I with giant welcoming arms right from the start and loved us as his own. To see the love between him and my mother, has also been a real gift. The love and rock solid respect between them is so beautiful. Al has touched so many people's lives, and left us all better people simply by being who he is. May we all continue to strive to live as well and fully as Al did. His 6 grandchildren whom he loved so dearly will grow up surrounded by stories of him always, Al will always be in my heart forever, and truly always be so missed. Love forever, Shannon.

Our heart felt condolences go out to our Daughter-in-law, Andrea Botkin on the loss of her much beloved father, Al. I remember with great fondness when we first met Al prior to the reception celebrating the marriage of our son Michael and Andrea. Al graciously welcomed us into his home and immediately made us feel a part of his extended family. He was generous, kind, warm, and a fine human being. He will be missed.

Bobby and Family We are so very sad to hear about the loss of your beloved husband, and father, Al. We will always remember Al for his kindness and happiness, and for his total acceptance of our son, Eric, into his family ... all those many years ago, when Eric and Brandi first started dating - is that already 15 + years ? Time does fly ... and also - for Al's total love for his & our grand-daughter, Abigale. Al was such a kind and loving man - now - out of pain - he is free to frolic with the Angles ... as you know - we are still in Texas, and, therefore we are unable to attend the service, and help to support the family in your time of sorrow. But know - that our hearts go out to you, and that we are thinking of you, all, with love Audrey & Warren Scott

Dear Bobby and girls, Sending heartfelt condolences at this sad time. Al is and will continue to be missed and loved. Gwen p.s. Dear Al, When orchids brighten the earth, Darkest winter has turned to spring; May this dark grief flower with hope In every heart that loves you. May you continue to inspire us: To enter each day with a generous heart. To serve the call of courage and love Until we see your beautiful face again In that land where there is no more separation, Where all tears will be wiped from our mind, And where we will never lose you again.
