Obituary of Walter Stone

STONE, Walter Cameron - It is with heavy hearts that our family announces that Walter Cameron Stone passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014 at the age of 74. Our family takes great comfort in knowing that he has joined his dear wife, Nancy. The cherished father of Robert, Peter (Joanne), Sage and James, was affectionately known as "Grumpa" to his nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and was a dear brother to his loving sisters, Joyce, Ruth and Muriel. Walter had a long and distinguished career as a CGA working as a controller for such companies as Cyanamid and Court Holdings. He also owned and operated a Carvel Ice Cream store until his retirement. Anyone that knew Dad can agree he was happiest sitting around a card table with family, dear friends or his many bridge playing companions at the Bridge Centre of Niagara. Family will receive friends at the VINELAND CHAPEL of TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3277 King St., on Sunday July 13th from 7-8:30pm. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, July 14th at 10:30am with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers one may make a donation to Community Living, St Catharines.
