Grandpa had a big heart and a beautiful soul. He will be forever missed by his family and friends and strangers on the street he didn't hesitate to stop and have a chat with and brighten their day! We will miss our visits to Beamsville to see you and catch up. Your energy, pride and laughter will always be remembered. Say hi to Grandma for us. RIP Great Grandpa.

You taught me well, you showed me how to love and care for others, you taught me respect, you taught me values of life. Always told me we all make mistakes but we learn from them and they build character but don't make the same mistake twice! Your sense of humour was beyond reproach! You and Mom opened your home to all the military boys that had no were to go! You will always be the greatest father in the world to me!!! Rip Pard!

Grandpa had the biggest heart. He was always very welcoming not only to his family, but everyone he met. He could get along with anyone. He had the greatest sense of humour. Just thinking about visiting him would put a smile on my face. I remember when I was younger and I would visit, Grandpa would have a vanilla dip donut, and smarties to put in the donut, waiting for my sister and I. It was our favourite treat, and we still talk about it to this day. Grandpa loved and was loved. I love you and will always miss you. Now you're with grandma. Rest in Paradise together<3

BY REQUEST: but how could I not share this memory!! So one day I get the call from mom "come quick, dad is in the big pond!!" So grimsby to the house at about 140k, fish tail in the driveway..and there he is...sitting on the grass under the tree beside the pond, looking like he had just lost his baseball over the fence of the house with the meanest dog in the neighbourhood, big pout on his face and his shoulders slumped. There behind him was the hood of his tractor sticking out of the water! Mom standing by the garage hands on her hips, slowly shaking her head. It was one of those moments in life where it was real hard to keep a straight face! Me: "hiya fella, what seems to be the trouble?" Dad: " backed the #*%#€£ tractor into the pond" Lol...pulled it out and laughed the whole time! Never in my 44 years have I ever met a person like dad, give you the shirt off his back then be mad that you didnt ask for his socks too! Absolute salt of the earth was this man who I am proud to have known and call my adopted father, in fact all you Martins are some of the best examples of awesome, down to earth great people it has ever been my pleasure to know, i am a better man for knowing this family no doubt! I can imagine one of the very first things ma and pa did when they met at the pearly gates was to go and have breakfast together, then off for an oil change!! You will be sorely missed sir, but I know one day we will all gather round the fire again for a beer! Say hi to ma, give her a hug for me! Love both you guys as my own, together again.

Mr. Martin always made Bonnie and I feel like part of the family when we were visiting Ken and Chrisy. I always smile when I think how Ken and his Dad looked driving away in that little red Smart car we took to show him. They both had to have an arm out the window just to have room to close the doors! Big grins on both their faces. A memory I will always carry with me is the way Mr. Martin would say your name when he spoke to you. He'd say your name with a mixture of love, sincerity and almost ... music. I've never met anyone who, just by the tone of their voice when saying your name, made you feel so loved and important. Truly a remarkable man. Bonnie and I offer our heartfelt condolences to all of Mr. Martin's family ... and our sincere thanks for sharing him with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
