To Wilma and the family: Elspeth and I were saddened to read of Bob's death. We recall good and supportive times in our Trinity-St. Paul's days and took delight in meeting some of the people you served so well in Grenada. I wish you the support of friends and the comfort of a spiritual presence in this sad time. May light shine into your darkness which the darkness cannot put out. With affection, Malcolm

Dear Wilma and family, I was deeply saddened to learn of Bob's death. He was a wonderful mentor and friend, especially in all the various actions we undertook in the Division of Mission in Canada, and then at TSP. He cared so compassionately about the common good and people on the margins of our society. He forever challenged us, but always with humour and tender care. You and Bob are at the centre of many good memories. You had a great ride together. Know that you are in my heart, knowing you are surrounded by many people both you and Bob touched. With Peace and Love, Bill

Dear Wilma, One more thing. It is amazing to think Bob was born a year after Church Union, and became a quintessential United Church leader. Love, Bill

I am sad to hear of Bob's passing. He was a good friend of my Dad, Gerry Gateman who also passed away recently. Our family was blessed and pleased that Bob was able to speak at Dad's service. Bob expressed, so eloquently, just what friendship is. It is to his credit how he was able to make people feel special in times of loss. They both, can continue their friendship together now.

Bob Lindsey was the minister at Glenwood United Church in Windsor ON for several years back in the late sixties or early seventies. That is where my father and mother, Marg and Gerry Gateman developed a lifelong friendship with Bob and Wilma. This friendship continued over the years. When in Ontario I would drive my parents to visit them, first in their cute home out near the escarpment, then lately at the retirement home outside Hamilton. They always had a great time reminiscing. We would often go to the Winona peach festival then drop by with some one-of-a-kind yellow plums. Then we would sit a talk about, guess what, the past;the only topic that was taboo was religion. Eventually we would go for dinner downstairs in the dining hall. One time we breached the doors of Bob's favourite English pub nearby. These were quality times, well spent with family and friends. My thoughts are with his wife and children. Bob will be missed.

Sorry we are going to be away and can't attend the service. We will miss Bob's pastoral presence at Trinity United. Fondest memories of discussions will be remembered. He has found his peace. May the Peace of Christ be with Wilma and the family for the future. Blessings to all.

Wilma & Family: we are so sorry for your loss. Bob's ministry at Glenwood U.C. In Windsor was such a blessing to that community. I can still picture him preaching the message of the social Gospel from the lecture, wearing his black gown. He always put me in mind of a lawyer advocating on behalf of his client's cause. I recall one Sunday, he began his sermon by first playing Bob Dylan's anti-war song, "With God On Our Side". Very powerful stuff. I, along with my brothers Don and Alan and four other young fellows from Glenwood traveled to Indian Reserves in Northern Ontario to experience what life was like there in the summer of 1970, as a result of Bob's efforts. It was a life changing experience for all of us. Eight years later, my wife Lorraine and i were privileged to have Bob, along with Bob Giuliano preside at our wedding. Such wonderful memories. Thanks be to God for his life. Bob & Lorraine Leschied

There was an immediate sense of kinship when Bob and I first met: we had mutual friends and a common heritage; more importantly, we had a shared vision that drove us. From that time on we spent many pleasant -- and profitable -- hours exchanging experiences and ideas. Bob's life was both rooted in Christ and expressed in the concerns of the world -- a great combination!

I'm very sorry. I just heard from my aunt that Rev. Lindsey had past away. I remember Rev. Lindsey's time at Glenwood very fondly and spent many hours visiting at the manse and playing with Mary. 2014 was a very rough year. My sister also passed away in October.
