Obituary of Irene Edith Hopkins

HOPKINS, Irene Edith (nee Cunning) - June 8th, 2015 at the age of 97 at Nimigon Retirement Home, Niagara Falls. Beloved wife of the late John Hopkins. Devoted mother to Bella Roddy (husband Jim), Jennifer Hopkins (husband John Hill), Deborah Hopkins (husband Al Douglas). Predeceased by daughter Anita Blake (husband Chuck). Proud grandmother of Ian Roddy (Andrea), Andrew Roddy, Sarah Roddy, Lanson Blake, John Hopkins-Hill, Katie Van Den Diepstraten, Heather Van Den Diepstraten, and great grandmother of Vivian and Arden Roddy. She was a Canadian Red Cross veteran of WWII. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday, June 13 at 11:00am at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St. Interment to follow at Vineland Cemetery. A light lunch will be offered afterwards at the Fireside Room. The family thanks the special friends and care providers at Irene`s home, and at Nimigon, for their compassion and friendship to our mother in the final months and days of her life. Donations to Canadian Red Cross or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
