Obituary of Hennie Kingma
Kingma- Hennie Ada Mina (nee Pen). The LORD took to Himself on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, our beloved mother, oma and great-oma. She was born on December 30, 1926, in Voorschoten, The Netherlands. She served as a nurse for 9 years before she married her fiancé Piet Kingma on October 17, 1956 in Kampen, The Netherlands. She supported her husband as he pastored his first congregation in Noordbergum, The Netherlands. In 1959 she, along with her husband and her two children, left their families and immigrated to Canada. She served as pastor’s wife in Fergus, ON, Smithers, BC, Smithville, ON, and Grand Rapids, MI. After a short battle with cancer, Piet was taken to the Lord in July 1996. Hennie then moved to Beamsville, Ontario in 1997. Shalom Gardens became Hennie’s new home in 2011 but changed a year later to Shalom Manor. She is remembered by many as a faithful and kind pastor’s wife, always ready to help and serve others. She is also known as a sweet, loving lady by many residents, care givers and nurses in Shalom. She will be sadly missed by her 8 children, 45 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be led by Rev. W. den Hollander and arranged by Tallman Funeral Homes. Visitation will be D.V. on Thursday, August 20, from 7 to 9 pm, and funeral service will be on Friday at 11 am, both at the Grassie Canadian Reformed Church. The family wishes to thank all who visited and cared for her, especially the staff at Shalom Gardens and Manor for all the wonderful care that they provided. Instead of flowers, monetary gifts to Shalom would be thankfully appreciated.
