Obituary of Joseph Frank Salerno

Salerno, Joseph Frank - July 19, 1934 - October 6, 2015. It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our much loved father and grandfather. Joe passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was born in Siderno Marina, Italy to the late Teresa (Rupolo) and Cosimo Frank Salerno. Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen (Ferreri) and was a loving and supportive father to Terri & Rocco Commisso, Diane Salerno, and Joanne & Rick Spizzirri. Joe was the proud grandfather of Michael & Danielle Commisso, Vincent & Bianca Stalteri and Caroline & Gabriel Spizzirri. Dear brother of Tony (Jane) Salerno and the late Domenick (Olga) Salerno. Cherished brother-in-law to Mary & Jim Deleo and Mario & Celestina Ferreri and predeceased by Frank & Mecca Ferreri and Al & Elaine Ferreri. Before moving to Canada, Joe spent many years living in Meriden, CT as well as in Mansfield, Ohio. Joe was a dedicated family man who took pride in his accomplishments throughout his professional career. We extend our sincerest gratitude to the owners and staff at Pioneer Eldercare for the compassionate care they provided Joe in his last year. Family will receive friends at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St. Vineland on Thursday, October 8 from 2-5 & 6-9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Helen's Church, 4157 Maplegrove Rd., Vineland on Friday, October 9 at 11:00am with Rite of Committal immediately following at St.John's Cemetery, Jordan. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Steve Ludzik Centre for Parkinsons Rehab at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital.
