Obituary of Randolph Vincent Lynds

It is with great sadness that Brian & Cindy Allen & Nancy & Ron Huckla announce the passing of their much loved Uncle & surrogate Father Randy at Linhaven Home for the Aged in St. Catharines.  Much Loved husband & soul mate of Dorothy (2017).  Randy is predeceased by his Father Harry & his Mother Vera.  Randy is eldest brother of Harry & wife DeeDe, Remona (Mona) & husband Herman, sister-in-law Gail, Charles (Charlie) & wife Vera, Karen & Myles.  He is predeceased by siblings:  Robert (Bob), Leona (Onie), baby brother Roger, Boyd & Eleanor.  He is predeceased by brothers & sister-in-law’s:  Doug & wife Della, Joyce & Husband Roy, Evelyn & husband John, Malcolm (Mike) & wife Evelyn, Joan & husband Allan, Ada & (baby) Frieda.  He is survived by Ada’s husband Mike & sister-in-law Frances.

Randy was born in Emerson, Kent County, New Brunswick.  He & Dorothy married in New Brunswick in 1947.  Later they moved to St. Catharines where they were united with their families living in the area.  Randy was always a strong & hard worker.  He worked moving logs by horse & wagon & drove for Wallace Moving in New Brunswick.  In Niagara he worked for Robertson’s Rentals & retired from Nickerson’s Appliances.  Randy & Dorothy became dedicated members of The Church of Christ.  He will be missed by many cherished friends, especially by the children of the Church of Christ where he was known as the “Candy Man”. 

The family wishes to give many thanks to Dr. Wong & Dr Hu & the staff at Linhaven for their excellent & dedicated care of both Dorothy & Randy.

Visitation will be at Tallman’s Funeral Home at 3277 King St, Vineland from 6 to 9pm on Tuesday Aug. 14, 2018 with the funeral service being held at The Church of Christ at 439 Ontario St. St Catharines at 1pm on Aug. 15, 2018.  If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara would be appreciated.
