The Paetkau Family: We were away when Mr Paetkau passed away so missed the obituary. Always enjoyed his sense of humour when he would stop and chat out in front of our house on Fletcher Ave. Would always have a nice chat when out canvassing for cancer in Davy Court. Please accept our deepest sympathy we missed him on our street when he moved to the Mennonite Home Apartments.

Our memory of your dad is that he was a happy man who was soft-spoken and decisive. I, Wendy, would be heading out early to work and he would already be walking the streets in Vineland and giving me a smile and a wave! We are truly sorry for your loss and have been praying for you.

Mary Anne, Tom and Paetkau family,
On behalf of our family I'd like to convey our sincerest and deepest sympathy to you and your family during this time of grieving. Your father was a very influenencial person in my life ever since I was a boy. He always took the time to greet me, speak with me and always ended our discussion with his witty humour and friendly advice. Truly a gentleman, mentor, and a man of great wisdom. His earthly presence will be sadly missed by all, but his lasting impression will live forever.
May you find peace and comfort during this difficult time. God Bless.

I remember very well when my Sister Lili and I would cut the grapes at the farm. The Paetkaus treated us as family.

Thinking of the Paetkau family as you remember and celebrate the life of Peter. I have been away from the Vineland community for many years but anytime I visited the church, Mr. Paetkau was always quick to come over and have a chat.

Our deepest condolences to the Paetkau family. Your dad was an amazing man. His wisdom and sense of humour were essential elements of church life in Vineland during our childhood and youth. Our brief visits in the years that followed were equally warm and enjoyable. He will be greatly missed by the community.
You will be in our thoughts and prayers as you gather as a family to mourn your loss and to celebrate with life of a wonderful man.
