Obituary of Lena Enns
LENA ENNS (November 20, 1926 - September 28, 2018.)
Lena Enns died peacefully at 91 years of age. She is predeceased by her parents, Margaret and John Enns, and by her brother, Peter. Lena was born in Waldheim, SK. She also lived in MB, but spent the majority of her life in Vineland, ON. She was a wiz with her many gloxinia and African violet plants, with her embroidery and her ability to spoil her family with cooking and baking up a storm. Lena grew up reading and believing God's Word, and enjoyed church life. "Tante Lena” lavishly showered love on her nieces and nephews, who adored her because of her invitations to spend time, treats, and gifts on Sunday afternoons, vacations, birthdays and Christmases. On the way home from school some of them were hoping to see her gold Nova on the yard, waiting for them. Visiting nieces and nephews were often asked to pick produce from her large garden for supper or dessert. Lena took care of her parents in their old age and took a 3-year hiatus from her work as a counselor at Bethesda Home in order to take care of her mother after a stroke. She felt privileged to own a car and she served others well into her older years by driving friends and seniors to appointments, to shop or to eat out. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at the Mennonite Home for Seniors, where Lena lived since 2008. Special thanks to Victor Enns, her friend and guardian. We will miss her prayers.
Visitation will be held at Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland on Wednesday October 3, 2018 from 11am to 1pm.
