Roy!
You were one of our dearest, kindest friends! Your devout faith in our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ continually inspired our faith to always pursue further knowledge of God’s mighty word!!
The Bible study classes you taught us many times in our home along with dear, beautiful Mary enabled us to gain much more knowledge & insight of the Gospel of Luke & the Bible itself!!
Your teaching made God’s word so immensely clear, understandable & easy to envision with your incredibly educated explanations!!
We were able to see Jesus’ teachings, sermons & lessons in the scriptures you were sharing with us actually come alive in our minds as we listened to & contemplated your insightful words!
Now your son Jeremy has brilliantly followed in your footsteps as you both follow our Lord’s footsteps! You spoke of him & his church he preaches at in Toronto to me of how incredibly proud you are of Jeremy!!
Both you & Mary showed your love of all three of your kids always in the evidence of your frequent words & updates about them. How thrilled you’d both be at the prospect of one or two of them coming home for a visit! You both were happiest when your whole family were all together just yourselves either for special occasions/moments or just so content being together to “be together!”
We are so eternally grateful to have had this wonderful blessing of “you” in our lives!!
All the years of good times, not so good times, difficult challenges & sad times, things to celebrate & always every single day time to pray about everything!!!
We thanked God & will continue to do so for your & Mary’s immense generosity, kindness, caring, compassion, thoughtfulness, encouragement, wise advice & intense brain storming on several occasions when it was required!!
You were an absolutely amazing preacher, husband, father, brother, friend to so many many people, phenomenal executor to someone that needed you so badly - our point being you were always so willing to lend a helpful, caring hand to anyone in need!!
Your love of your dog Smokey scored major points in our books being that we are immense animal lovers. Our furr babies knew instinctively that both you & Mary had kind hearts that loved “furry family members”.
Our Mr Mistoffolees just adored both Roy & Mary!! He would never permit Roy to begin his bible study class with us until Mr Mistoffolees gave them the proper “Hello” & received enough attention from them back! LOL!
Currently, our QTPiee has similar affection for them. Not quite as intense the love that Mr M had for them but a true fondness nonetheless!
Roy you will forever & always remain in our thoughts, hearts, memories & prayers!!!
We are so thrilled & happy for you that your horrific suffering is finally over & your lifetime goal of one day going “home” to your Saviour has been achieved!!! You are safely home in Heaven!!
Jeff & I can envision it so clearly......dearest Jesus standing with His outstretched arms & you walking to Him w/o any canes, no pain in your knees or anywhere else till Jesus embraces you in a big hug!!
While laying your head against His shoulder wearing a big smile Jesus says to you....
“Well done my brother! Well done!”

Roy was my roommate at FC in 66-67. I knew him from West Church of Christ in Aurora Illinois. He was my friend. I shall miss him. Roy was a limited edition, he was unique in a very good way. His devotion to the Lord was without equal among all people I know. I am sad for the loss of those were closest to him and yet joyful that he now see's and is enjoying the full grace of God in the hereafter. I loved Roy as a Brother as a friend.and again I shall miss him.

We remember Roy so pleasantly as a young man of 12 years who accompanied his parents to Nigeria without complaint and was a companion to them and to us in the work there. We recall seeing him on the dock with his parents when we landed on our return to New York. They had come to debrief us on the work that they so much loved. We have rejoiced to hear of Roy's continuing faithfulness and fruitfulness in the Kingdom. My brother speaks fondly of their fellowship at Jordan. Our heart goes out to the family for comfort at this time.

Roy was quite a fellow. Sort of unique. He held a gospel meeting at Peterborough and we came to know each other better. Judy also liked him. And I held a gospel meeting at St. Catharines a good while ago now and came to know Mary and the family better. Though we had known Mary many years before. Will miss Roy for sure.

I sat at Roy’s feet for a year many years ago. I had a bad family life and was not that strong of a Christian. Roy told me after a sun am leason one time, “Neil don’t let your past keep you from your future in Christ”. This did not make a lot of sense to a 20 year old troubled kid, but made sense a few years later. I am thankful to have met Roy and many of his family members, praying for you all.
