Obituary of Elisabeth Doerksen

Doerksen, Elisabeth - Sept. 1. 1921- Nov. 20. 2018 - Went home to be with her Lord and Saviour whom she worshipped and longed to see.  Her children had been with her most of the day, late afternoon they said their goodbyes when she asked to be left alone; and at 10:40p.m. she quietly breathed her last breath with dear nurse Jessy present.

She leaves to mourn her children: Elsie and Wilmar Loewen; Sieghard and Lisa Siemens; Lucy and Harald Neufeld, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.Her sisters: Mary Janzen, Katie Braun, Hedy Durksen, sister in law; Susie Heidebrecht and Margaret Janzen, as well as many nephews and nieces.

Elisabeth will be remembered as the “Flower Lady” by her friends at Tabor Manor, one with a great sense of humor and energy. Her sisters will long remember her stories of working at the Hotel Dieu Dialysis Unit as a cleaning lady, her love for the patients and nurses alike.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Tallman Funeral Homes, with visitation Sunday, Nov. 25 from 6 – 8 pm, at Scott St. Mennonite Brethren Chruch 339 Scott St., St. Catharines.  Monday interment at 9:30 a.m. prior to the Memorial Service at 11a.m also at the church.
