So sorry to hear of your mother's passing away. We met Mom Gossen over 40 years ago and quickly came to love her. She always had a warm smile and showed interest in others, sharing a word of encouragement with those she came in contact with. May the God of comfort, comfort your hearts as you celebrate her life.

Dear Mark
My heart felt sympathy during your time of loss. No surprise that your mom was a woman of great faith. Her faith is the legacy which she has given to you which you and you live it out in the workplace.
Keeping you and your family in prayer. I know God will give you his peace and comfort during this time.
Blessings my dear friend.

During my early years at Brock, I worked with Agatha in the Registrar's Office. When she heard that I had taught German, she would often throw in a phrase or two in Low German word and was always amused that I had no idea what she had said!
She shared her pie pastry recipe with me, and it is still my never fail, go-to recipe today, some 38 years later. I first learned about Plumeplatz from her, and was one of the lucky ones to enjoy still warm Peach Platz that she had just pulled from the over before bringing it in to work. I still have her handwritten recipe for Platz dough, written on the back of a scrap of computer paper, and most times as I page through my little book of handwritten recipes, that scrap falls out and reminds me of Agatha's kindness in sharing.
Agatha was such a generous and kind soul who could find the positive in most difficult situations and in most difficult people.
My sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to her family on their terrible loss.

Agatha and I worked together in the Brock University Registrar's Office for many years and became good friends. Agatha was always cheerful and willing and I felt comfortable in her presence. I really admired her for her baking abilities. Her peach pie became legendary around our office every peach season. I really missed her when she retired, but from time to time a group of us Brockies would visit her in her cosy little apartment and, sure enough, a peach pie would be waiting for us. After she moved to Extendercare and I, too, had retired, our ways parted somewhat, but I did visit her there with friends and her face lit up to see us. I am saddened that she is no longer with us, but I feel she is happy and will be watching over her family just as she did when she was here. My sincere condolences to her family at this sad time.
