So many memories. Toby built the best skating rinks in a backyard that turned into fast-pitch training camp in summer. Grass never grew at home plate or the three pitcher’s mounds. Everyone was welcome in that backyard. I remember young crows flying down to greet Toby while Red was barking and kittens were playing on the lawn waiting to be cuddled by an incredibly strong man. Toby overesaw all that with a calm smile and patience. I appreciate the time we spent pruning peaches together, debating every possible topic with Doris, and growing up beside Dave, Wayne and Rob.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Toby. He taught me so much about the importance of working. I remember sitting on the window bench in the kitchen having a coffee with Toby and Doris and talking about whatever came into our heads for hours on end. He was a great fun loving man who taught all of us how to play hockey and baseball in the backyard. So many great memories. My heart goes out to you Doris and your family in this time of sorrow.

Doris, Dave, Wayne & Rob,
It is with sincere sadness that I learned of Toby's passing. Fond memories from my youth of his smile watching fastball at the Jordan Ballpark. Proudly cheering on his three talented sons, all of them "fireballers" as well.
Return visits back home to the Jordan Arena were always reminders of that wonderful smile, to be remembered forever.
A very humble man, wonderful husband, father & grandfather to an incredible family. A Life well lived. You are all in my thought's at this time.

I remember many summer days helping Toby sort peaches in the barn, him for 12 hours and me for 15 minutes. After dinner, he would easily school all of us in Jeopardy, and then go back out to work until dark! I will miss my uncle a lot.
