Obituary of Cornelia Vellekoop

Vellekoop, Cornelia Wilhelmina (nee Prins)- With her family by her side on April 1, 2016 at McNally house hospice our Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Cornelia in her 85th year slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus. She will be greatly missed by her husband Leendert Vellekoop of 59 years and her three loving children Ben (Marleen) Vellekoop, Arie (Betty) Vellekoop and Lisa (Earl) Lautenbach. She is predeceased by her precious daughter Marja (2007). Oma will be forever treasured by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her true joy and she was so blessed with each and every one of them. She is survived by her sisters Betty in Canada, Bets, Annie and Ada of The Netherlands. Corrie came to Canada in 1974 from the Netherlands and lived in the Lincoln area where they operated a greenhouse business. She loved knitting, ceramics and most of all playing games with her grandchildren. Corrie loved her Lord with all her heart and hung on to His promises, and trusted Him with all her life and in all her experiences. She was a great believer in Jesus and all His teachings. The family would like to thank mom's special "DAUGHTER", Denise Meeboer, for her never ending love & devotion. In memory of our mom please do a loving act of kindness, make someone laugh, give a hug or say, "I love you", to someone special in your life. The family will receive friends at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St. Vineland on Tuesday, April 5 from 2-4, 7-8:30pm. The interment will take place at Vineland Cemetery prior to the memorial service which will be held at the First Reformed Church, 1136 Vansickle Rd. St.Catharines, on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 2:00pm. If desired, memorial donations may be made to McNally House Hospice (mcnallyhousehospice.com).
