My Uncle Ron had no children, so when he took sick in back in August, 2015, I took the journey with Aunt Donna to assist her along the way. It has been a long, exhausting process for her as she made hard decisions, renovated the house to accommodate him, researched all the possibilities of places for him to live out his final days and met with numerous doctors and staff for meetings, trying to get answers. Aunt Donna was always looking out for Uncle Ron's best interest. She kept him safe and comfortable and she did her best to keep him satisfied and happy. I know the two of them were only married for a short 7 years, but I marveled at the love he showed for her, which was evident when he looked into her eyes and talked about her. She always brought a smile to his face! He is at peace now, which gives a feeling of comfort that he is no longer suffering the horrible pain inflicted. He fought an uphill battle with courage and strength with the help of Donna by his side. He is now in Glory, reunited with his brothers and sister. We will miss his jokes, and big smile, and every time I chew gum, I will think of him ( who was never without a piece!!)
Forever in my memory, Sharon Musson-Maxted ( Daughter of Joan Watson)
