Obituary of Durk Piersma

Piersma, Durk - May 17, 1933- January 26, 2019 - Durk went to be with His heavenly Father in his 86th year, surrounded by his family. Psalm 84- Loving husband of Irene (Siderius) for 60 years. Cherished father to son Harry and Glenda Piersma; Jen and Kris Holt (Veronica, Luke), Sue and Byron Dodd (Logan, Maryna and Wesley), Jeff and Samantha Piersma (Lauren and Allison), Amy Piersma; son Art and Janet Piersma, Bonnie and Ryan Zwaagstra (Connor, Mason, Megan), Richard and Sheena Piersma (Olivia, Naomi, Emilia), Peter Piersma and Allyson Taylor, Leigh-Ann and Glenn Heinen (Andrew, Tyler, Brayden); daughter Deb and Al deRoo, Colin and Rachel deRoo (Jason, Daniel), Allan deRoo and Keira Paniagua, Mark and Kyla DeRoo, David deRoo and Ashley Elzinga; and daughter Eileen and Tony Van Geemen, Robyn and Richard Jones (Rory), Tony and Jennifer Van Geemen.

Brother to Hinke Valkena, Doet Elgersma and Walter Piersma. Brother in law to Agnes and Bill Bennink, Diana Eikelenboom, Jerry and Diane Siderius, John Siderius and Grace Dann.  Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 29 from 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland. Funeral Service at 11:30a.m. at the Vineland Free Reformed Church, 3685 King St, Vineland on Wednesday, January 30. Private interment at Vineland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the United Mennonite Home would be appreciated. Special thanks to the staff of the United Mennonite Home and Dr. Woodland for their loving and compassionate care.
