I was an exchange student and lived with John and Janice in 2003-04. Those times were memorable. They taught me how to speak English and love the Maple Leafs, and made me grow as a person, living for the first time away from my parents.
I will never forget going Ice fishing with John and Art, and afterwards watching the Leafs in the Kitchen with fresh fish. Watching movies downstairs while Amber wanted my spot in the sofa (John with his wine and Janice with her book).... when they got me a guitar to practice because I liked It.... Playing pool with him downstairs, making a visit to his parents and their 11 dogs....
So many stories in such a short time that will be forever carried in my heart.
I knew about It when writing him a message to talk about the first Maple Leafs playoff game (we won buddy!) and noticed he was offline since march 31st.... A few days after we talked last time.
I am devasted by the news and everything I wanted now is to give Janice a big hug.
All my condolences for Janice, family and friends. I will never forget you my friend.

Davin and I are so sorry for your loss Janice. We were your neighbours for many years when we lived on the Haldimand Rd 20.
John bought our kitchen cabinets in the summer of 1996 for your garage.
My husband always took his 1996 keepsake watch to John for upkeep.
He will be missed.
Thinking of you and the family.

Jamie and I are terribly sorry to hear of John's passing.
We've known John for 25 years from living on the Luttjehuizen property when we first came to Beamsville. I won't forget how he and Jamie used to plot revenge on the resident roaster!
We are so grateful he came to visit on Christmas day, sorry that it was the last time we saw him.
We will always remember how generous he was with his time. He was always happy to take J out fishing on his beautiful boat, he'd even clean the fish so we could all enjoy the catch.
Our sympathies to all of the family.
RIP John we will miss you.

We will miss you Uncle John. I am filled with loving memories of holidays at Grandma’s home, family dinners at the Mandarin, drinking some of your homemade wine, target shooting outside the back of your home, fighting over the TV when NASCAR went head to head with an NFL game, and who can forget your turkey carving skills, like no other. :)
Many of these memories will bring me joy for years to come. It also brings me some joy to know that you got to meet my three sons before you left. It saddens me that only Hudson will potentially remember your bang on impression of Donald Duck. It saddens me deeply that you will only live on in our hearts and our minds. Please know you will be remembered fondly by many. I hope you find the peace that you were seeking.
Always with love,
Kris and Janine Tessmer (along with Hudson, Koen and Quentin)
