Obituary of John Douglas Hamm

Hamm, John - Passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2019 surrounded by family after living with ALS for 5 years.  He will be forever missed by his loving wife Cathy, and adoring children Jake (Elizabeth), Rachel and Sarah as well as his mother Anne, siblings Bill (Renita), Suzanne (Randy) Thiessen, Geoff (Christine) and Kathy (Gerhard) Epp.  He was predeceased by his father Ed.  John will also be missed by the Holubowsky family – Paul, Ricki, Christine and Carolyn (Kevin) Muir, as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.  John was deeply invested in our community. He served on the Lincoln Fire Department for over 30 years and was a full time fire fighter in the City of Vaughan.

Visitation will be held at the Southridge Community Church in Vineland (3970 Glendale Ave) on Thursday June 13th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Friday June 14th at the Southridge Community Church in St. Catharines (201 Glenridge Ave) at 11:00 a.m. John’s family is thankful for the fire fighters, care workers and vast community that have supported them faithfully through his courageous battle.  If so desired donations can be made to ALS Canada (als.ca).
