Obituary of David Mark Fric
FRIC, David Mark, March 5, 1956-November 15, 2019
Mark leaves behind his wife and best friend Brenda and his two sons, Jonathan and Curtis who he loved and was very proud of. We are heart broken, but know that Mark was suffering and was losing his 8 year battle against Multiple Myeloma.
Mark, a graduate of The University of New Brunswick, Electrical Engineering came to St. Catharines in the late 1970’s. Mark and Brenda met in 1990 while both employed by SNC-Lavalin – what a lucky guy! We married in 1992 and had three sons, Jonathan, Douglas and Curtis. Heartache followed after Douglas’ birth as we lost him at 5 days old with a severe heart condition.
Thank you to Mark’s friends who visited him while in hospital over the last 4 weeks – I know it meant a lot to him.
A sincere thank you to Dr. A. Benger, Dr. H. Mian and our favourite nurse, Wendy in
the hematology department at Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton for their superb care.
We would also like to thank the staff at St. Catharines General Hospital for their care and compassion during this very difficult time.
I would like to say a special thank you to all my friends and family – your support has meant the world to us!
Per Mark’s wishes he has been cremated and will rest with our son Douglas. We will have a celebration of Mark’s life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Mark’s memory would be appreciated.
