John will be remembered as a good-hearted, gentleman. He was a kind and loving soul, with a great sense of humor. It was wonderful to witness, the deep love shared between John and his amazing, devoted wife, Lynne. John deeply loved his family, he was so proud of them too. He loved his friends. John was often found checking pulses and making sure everyone was okay. His big, beautiful smile often lit up the room and brightened people's day. John will live on in the hearts of many people. He is loved and missed. My sincere condolences to his wonderful family. John will not be forgotten.

Dear Lynne and Family,
John is remembered as a kind doctor, a good diagnostician and a gentle surgeon.
My association with him was as a RN in the ICU, Recovery Room and OR at SCGH. An outstanding trait of his was how he valued the RN’s input in the care of his patients.
It was great working with him.
Dave sends his condolences to all especially Kelly and Lisa.
Take care.

I am a Registered Nurse that cared for many of Dr. Hyatt’s vascular patient’s on C5 ICU at the SCG in the 80’s. There was never a time you would hesitate to call him about any issue to do with his patients. He cared so deeply for them all!! I remember a night he called in to check on someone - he said he was up watching the “Cat’s Pajama’s” (some of you may remember that late night program) so thought he would get an update!
He was always quiet spoken and had a ready smile and easy laugh for the patients and the staff.
Sending heartfelt condolences to all his family and friends on the loss of such a great man!

Remembering personal interactions with Dr. Hyatt makes me smile, as I picture him beaming that signature, slightly impish, big grin of his. (We all know that grin, right?)
Dr. Hyatt was attentive to his patients and acknowledging of all his hospital colleagues. He was certainly well respected as a skilled surgeon but, more importantly, known to be a genuinely kind and generous human being, very much the gentleman.
Dr. Hyatt was thoughtful and present; working alongside him in the OR was a pleasure.
I have little doubt my fond memories are any different from the remembrances of the multitude of those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with the man.
My condolences to family and friends. Know that he has left a very big legacy behind him.
