Obituary of Susan Elizabeth Fast
Fast, Sue (nee Arbuckle) – It is with the heaviest of hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved and spirited, Sue, 48. Sue lost her valiant battle with ALS at home in Wainfleet on January 9, 2020. Sue will be deeply missed by her loving, caring and devoted husband, Dennis – her best friend, love of her life and rock. Daughter of Peter (deceased) and Terri Arbuckle; and cherished sister of Peter Arbuckle (Leigh), David Arbuckle (Danielle) and Kate Thompson (Dave); and loving daughter-in-law and sister-in-law to John and Liz Fast; John Fast (Kathy); Lori Peters (Jason) and Mark Fast (Amy). Sue will be sadly missed by her many adored nieces, nephews and beloved dogs Wiot, Doc and Ditto. She will be fondly remembered by her coworkers, friends and extended family.
Sue was an amazing, compassionate and empathetic nurse who provided exceptional care to her patients and their loved ones. She was a great friend, a beautiful soul, a force, a brave and resilient inspiration to all of us. Despite this horrible disease, SHE. KEPT. GOING.
Den & Sue want to thank all the doctors, nurses, personal support workers and support staff for their wonderful care and compassion.
True to Sue’s smiling and happy spirit: she didn’t want a funeral or a visitation. Sue wanted a party. A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at a later date. Donations to ALS Canada (als.ca) in Sue’s honour and memory would be appreciated by the family. Sue aspired for a future without ALS.
And just when the caterpillar thought her world was over, she became a beautiful butterfly! Fly free beautiful butterfly with our love beneath your wings.
