Danielle and I met in our first year of university. I, among many people in our resident building were captured by Dani’s fun loving spirit and overwhelming kindness. A (now 9 year) friendship has emerged and like that friendship, I was welcomed into the Bouw household with open arms. Of the times that I visited Danielle’s family home in Niagara, I was always awed by how close and open the Bouw family was. When you entered those doors, it felt like you were family. Stephen and Linda had this comforting aura about them and always expressed such interest in each person who walked through the door. It was apparent for all of Danielle’s friends what a close, cute, and loving couple they were; something to strive for in relationships of our own!
Stephen, in particular, was extremely fun loving. I loved how he and the family always had something new and fun whenever you came around the farm- whether that would be creating a zip line or axe throwing- the Bouw house was not your conventional family home :). It was so amazing to see Stephen welcome Nate into the family and watching Linda and him at the wedding activities was a true highlight for me. It was so apparent how much Stephen loved his kids and what a close relationship Danielle and him had together. Although Dani and Linda also shared many similarities, I like to think Dani’s “farm girl” side came from her dad :)
Stephen and Linda- you have raised such a beautiful family. Thank you for always welcoming everyone into your home as if they were your own. Stephen you will be missed so much. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to meet you and your wonderful family.
