Sandy, your Mom will always hold strong in my memories. She was warm and mischievous:) That is how I remember her from the tender age 8 when we lived as neighbours in Vineland. I also remember her paintings and it was so lovely to read in the obit that she continued to be who she was...through her art and her writing. This is what we all hope for as we age. What a gift to herself and to you. Vivid for me are her smiles. She seemed to be perennially amused. Not a bad way to go through this life. At the same time she was emotive and I remember her always caring what I had to say...even as a small child. This did not keep her from calling to my attention things I said that perhaps were...less than kind or ideal at the time. I don't think you can ask for much more than that in a human being. Caring, thoughtful, humorous, stalwart in her value and beliefs...and above all generous with her love. You would have been the main recipient of that. Cherish that Sandy, I know you will. Take comfort in that she always believed in you and she still does. She is still cheering you on. Much love Carla

Sandy it was so thoughtful of you to let all of us know of your Mum’s passing. She was such a delight in our neighbourhood and growing up, we always knew we could count on her for anything. She and our Mum Carol were close friends despite the miles that separated them after Mum moved. I fondly remember your Mum coming to visit with my Mum while I was in grad school in Ottawa. We all had a wonderful reunion. Your father was also so good to us when our Dad passed away in 1968. I remember Mum telling us that he came to see her after Dad died to let her know that if money was tight while the estate was settled, she could count of him for support. She told that story many times over the years and she always got a bit choked up about the kindnesses from you and your family. You are such a wonderful reflection of your parents loving and kind approach to life. Be good to yourself Sandy, it is what your parents would want for you. Heartfelt - Sandra Harder-Prophet

Sandy, we were so sorry to hear about your mom's passing.
Bernice was a great neighbour, a good friend and a wonderful person . As your next door neighbour for fourteen years, we have so many fond memories. Every Hallowe'en Keri and Trevor couldn't wait to go show Bernice their costumes. She always made a fuss over them. Treats and compliments were plentiful. We grew to love her as family.
Bernice was a talented artist . I love that you included her beautiful paintings on the website. I still use her raisin bread recipe. Let keep all our fond memories close to our hearts .
Sandy, you have been a caring and loving daughter. Your mom was so proud of you .
Rest in peace, Bernice.
Love from Rita and David

Sandra, I am so sorry you have lost your mom, but I am eternally grateful her passing was peaceful and painless. Mom and I will always cherish the memories of our Thursday afternoon visits and tea parties with her these past few months. We will remember with fondness her quick wit, her infectious laugh and her joy on her 94th birthday. So glad we were able to share it with you and her. Your mom was always a kind, caring and loving aunt who allowed us to run in and out of your home, stealing chips and sweets along the way. Welcoming my husband into the family. Great memories. Thinking of you, Karen and Leon
