I remember Sam. He was the first person I ever purchased life insurance from when I first started working in the early 70's. Over the years Sam would invite me out to lunch and I enjoyed hearing of his work with the Gideons. I was not a Christian, in fact had nothing to do with the church. But Sam's gentle talks showed me that one could be a businessman and also a follower of Christ. I lost touch with Sam but I never forgot the lessons he taught me by his example. Many years later I started attending church and accepted Christ as my savior. I did have a chance a number of years ago to speak to Sam on the phone when he was in Florida, and to tell him the influence he had on my life. I am glad that I had that chance and that God put Sam in my life when I was young and needed a role model.

What I remember most about Sam is that he stood for the truth, the rock solid Word of God, and was a loyal soldier. It was a pleasure to have known Sam. Our condolences to you, Dorothy and to your family.

Sam was a joy to be around, we had a lot of laughs with him and Dorothy. We will never forget our missions trip with them, they were designated “Grandparents” to the Mission’s Group. Sam was bold, and gentle and full of wisdom as he taught the Word, his love for Christ was evident in every aspect of his life. A fine example to all of us! We were honoured to have known him.

Sam will be remembered as a Faithful servant of the Lord. He served the church, Gideon's, Child Evangelism and other charities with dedication and a loving spirit. Having spent many hours with Sam at board meetings, Child Evangelism ministries and Gideon's, Sam will be fondly remembered as a faithful friend. We send our deepest sympathy to Dorothy and her loving family. God Bless.

I new Sam from helping at Awana kid's club at Ridgeville Bible Chapel as well and was always impressed with his warmth and heart. His presence was missed, and Dorthy, when they needed to step back due to health and age. My prayers for the family at this time as I know he leaves a big hole, but praise God he is now with the Lord.

I didn't know Sam really well but what I knew I was impressed with.
I spent some time with him and Dorothy at Awana and their joy in sharing Jesus with the kids was very evident.
I also remember him coming in to the shop and refusing to let his son pay for some auto body work. True fatherly love. I will miss seeing him.
